Ability Spark Program by UNESCO and Umoya Sports

Ability Spark Program

UNESCO New Delhi and Umoya Sports have come up with a new Ability Spark Program, to engage children in fun-filled outcome-bases sports and physical education activities.

During this unprecedented time, when the schools are closed and students are forced to have their education from home, no or restricted access to physical or outdoor sports, children are facing a lot of challenges.

This shall be an inclusive digital physical education program for all children with their parents, guardians, family, friends, special educators, etc.

The organizers are hoping that children with disabilities will have the same roles and experiences as their peers who do not have a disability.

India is a country with the largest number of youths, followed by China and Indonesia, this programme shall help students attain the internationally recommended 60 minutes of daily physical activity during this time marked by school closures and strict social distancing measures.

Please note that it is our responsibility to ensure we create a culture for physical education and physical activity to help every child lead a healthy and active lifestyle especially during this time.

According to the UNESCO website, the Ability Spark Program shall go online on 17 August 2020.  You can follow UNESCO New Delhi on social media platforms or channels to ensure you have all the updates about the Ability Spark Program.
