International Day of Education inaugurated in CMS

The 2-day UN International Day of Education organized by City Montessori School, Aliganj Campus II was inaugurated online by the Mayor of Lucknow Mrs. Sanyukta Bhatia today. In her inaugural address delivered on the occasion, Mrs. Sanyukta Bhatia called upon the teachers, parents, and the learned citizens to prepare children of today for the challenges of the future and lay the foundation of a better tomorrow.

Mrs. Bhatia said that the world today is passing through a very difficult phase of ideological clashes. As such, it is our duty to provide such guidance to the youth of today and instill in them such values that may help them create an ideal world order. Earlier, Mrs. Bhatia formally unveiled the logo of the ‘International Day of Education’. It may be mentioned that the 2-day International Day of Education is being organized on 24th and 25th January in which students of primary and junior classes from prestigious schools of India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Croatia are participating.

Prepare new generation for challenges of the future

The International Day of Education began on the virtual zoom platform with School Prayer, followed by All Religions Prayer and World Peace Prayer. On this occasion, the participants from India and abroad introduced themselves in a unique style, mesmerizing the audience with their creativity. The other enchanting educational cultural events of the program included Qawwali, Rhythmic drill, Unity in Diversity, Happy school, etc. Founder of CMS and renowned educationist, Dr. Jagdish Gandhi said on this occasion that this educational event is a meaningful step towards the personality development of the students. CMS President, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon said that the event has given an outlet to the latent talents of the students and provided them a global platform to display their potential. Commending CMS Aliganj Campus II for organizing this online event, Chief Executive Officer of CMS, Mr. Roshan Gandhi said that it would motivate the students to do something new for the betterment of society. Convenor of the International Day of Education and Principal, CMS Aliganj Campus II, Mrs. Samvida Adhikari expressed her gratitude towards the participating students and teachers from India and abroad and said that this event has been successful in boosting students’ morale and encouraging the support of families in the educational process in spite of the stalled educational activities in the corona pandemic scenario.

Chief Public relations Officer of CMS, Mr. Hari Om Sharma informed that students from as many as 46 schools of India and abroad have sent their entries for participation in various interesting competitions of this educational event. While recorded entries for solo singing have been received for the Groovy Moovy competition, family activity videos on gardening, painting, cooking, embroidery, skit, narration, etc. have been received for Artistry, Art on Platter contest and instrumental music videos have been received for Rhythmic Fusion competition. The other competitions are Ensemble, melodious choral composition, which is a group singing competition, and Weaving your survival – quilt your thought for which quilts on survival during the pandemic have been received. Mr. Sharma informed that one competition, The Power of Voice, Gen Orators, will be held live online tomorrow on 25th January after which the winners of various competitions will be declared at 4.00 pm.
