Mainpuri Sainik School in Uttar Pradesh will now be known as General Bipin Rawat Sainik School. This information was shared by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath through his social media platform.
“माँ भारती के अमर सपूत, देश के प्रथम CDS जनरल बिपिन रावत जी को श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित करते हुए जनपद मैनपुरी स्थित सैनिक स्कूल का नाम ‘जनरल बिपिन रावत सैनिक स्कूल’ किया गया है।”
“Desh ki seva mein apne pranon ki ahuti dene wale General Bipin Rawat ji ki shahadat ko naman karte hue, UP CM Yogi Adityanath ji ne Janpad Mainpuri mein sthitSainik school ka naam General Bipin Rawat Sainik School karne ka nirnay liya hai,” UP CMO said in a tweet in Hindi.

Who was General Bipin Rawat:
He was the first sitting Chief of Army Staff to be appointed to the top post of CDS. The Indian Government amended the Army rules to extend the age of superannuation from 62 years to 65 years, paving the way for his appointment.
