Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur has developed the National Digital Library of India sponsored by the Ministry of Education. The aim of the Library is to make available to the learner’s community learning resources through a single-window, National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT) has sponsored the National Digital Library of India (NDLI) project and arranged funding through the Ministry of Education.

Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal in his tweet stated “A call to all the teachers & students! @NDLIndia is bringing the world of books at your doorstep, all within a single window.

The National Digital Library material is available in different formats like Books, AudioBooks/Lectures, Video lectures, Lecture Presentations/Notes, Simulations, Question Papers, Solutions, etc. The educational materials are all subject areas like Technology, Social Science, Literature, Law, Medical, etc.is available from Primary to Postgraduate levels. The user can browse the content by type, subject, source, and learning resource.

Apart from the material the Library has content like Person of the Week, Topic of the week, Talks & Webinars, etc. For example, Person of the Week features Shri Satyajit Ray, Topic of the week covers World Mental Health Day, etc.
