The 3-day Novus Conference organized by City Montessori School Indira Nagar Campus online came to a grand closing today. Amidst a colorful educational-cultural program presented by the students, the Chief Guest, Mr. Satish Mahana, Minister, Industrial Development, UP, inaugurated the closing ceremony virtually. The prize winners of various contests were awarded during the online function. In his address delivered on the occasion, Mr. Satish Mahana said that creative use of Science will bring happiness and prosperity to society. He called upon the students to consider the power of their intellect and knowledge as the gift of the creator and apply it in the service of the society so that mankind can continue to progress. Commending CMS, he said that it is indeed a great service on the part of the institution to provide this global platform to students to exhibit their talents and skills.

CMS Founder and renowned educationist, Dr. Jagdish Gandhi blessed the students for a bright future and said that CMS aims at instilling global values and a scientific outlook in its students. He said that chilDr.en should use their knowledge of science judiciously so that humanity thrives. President of CMS, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon said that such events develop a healthy competitive spirit among students. Chief Executive Officer of CMS, Mr. Roshan Gandhi and Convenor of the event, and Principal of CMS Indira Nagar Campus, Mrs. Ruchi Bhuwan Joshi too expressed their views on the occasion.
Chief Public Relations Officer of CMS, Mr. Hari Om Sharma informed that four competitions were organized in three categories at Novus Conference. Students of age group 8 to 11 participated in the ‘Recast Competition’ in which the participants put forth their ideas in the form of write-ups and Drawing on the theme ‘I want to see’. The first prize of this competition in the write-up category went to Parv Tyagi of Indirapuram Public School, Ghaziabad, and Mohd. Zareef Tazwar Prangon from St. Gregory’s High School and College, Bangladesh won the first prize in the Drawing category. In the ‘Transform Competition’, students aged between 11 to 15 designed or improved an existing machine with their innovation to address problems related to agriculture, industry, education, housing, etc. Kartik Yadav and Aayush Agarwal won the first prize in this competition based on the theme ‘I want to create’. In Metamorphose competition, the theme was ‘Interconversion and Conservation of Energy’ on which the participants aged 15 to 18 designed an innovative working model based on interconversion and conservation of energy. The first prize went to Venkateshwar International School, New Delhi. In the Rap-esoteric competition, on the other hand, participants aged between 11 to 15 presented a science rap based on a scientific law, principle, theory, or story of any invention. The first prize of this competition was won by Ayyan Ahmad of CMS Chowk Campus. Mr. Sharma further stated that students exhibited such curiosity and interest in Science in this unique competition that shows that these children will definitely create history through their innovations for humanity one day.
