PM salutes daughters on National Girl Child Day

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has saluted the daughters of the nation on National Girl Child Day.

The National Girl Child Day is commemorated in India every year on January 24th. This day was started by the Ministry of Women and Child Development and the Government of India in the year 2008. The aim was to spread awareness about all the inequalities and differences our daughters face in our society.

 In a tweet, Shri Modi said “On National Girl Child Day, we salute our #DeshKiBeti and the accomplishments in various fields. The Central Government has undertaken many initiatives that focus on empowering the girl child, including access to education, better healthcare and improving gender sensitivity.

In another tweet, he also appreciated all those people who are working towards empowering the girl child and ensuring a life of dignity and opportunity for our daughters.

The UP Police also gave a very beautiful message to commemorate the day. They tweeted “A baby girl is one of the most beautiful miracles in life, one of the greatest joys we can ever know, & one of the reasons why there is a little extra sunshine, laughter & happiness in yr. world today
