UP Foundation Day with a new Scheme for Students

On 24th January Uttar Pradesh celebrated its 71st UP Foundation Day. On this occasion, the Social Welfare Department released 1,43,929 scholarships for school students. The scholarship is distributed to the school students every year on 2 October and 26 January.

Uttar Pradesh, the Social Welfare Department, Minority Welfare Department, and Backward Classes Welfare Department give scholarship and fee reimbursement to more than 57 lakh students every year.

Along with this, Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath also declared to provide free coaching to the needy poor students preparing them for competitive examinations like IAS, PCS. For availing the benefits of the scheme students have to register online.

From this year onwards a new award was introduced ‘UP Gaurav Samman’ for those who have worked to give the state a distinctive name or bring laurels to the state. The selection committee will be headed by the Chief Secretary, and the award will be given to individuals from different fields like sports, culture, education, technology, etc.
