On the occasion of Veterans Day 2021, celebrations were organized under the aegis of Headquarters Central Command at Army Medical Corps Centre & College Stadium on 14 January 2021.
Veterans Day is celebrated every year as a mark of respect in recognition of service rendered by Field Marshal KM Cariappa, OBE, the First Indian Commander-in-Chief of Indian Armed Forces.
A Veterans Rally was conducted for the benefit of ex-servicemen and their dependents residing in an around Lucknow. Lieutenant General IS Ghuman, GOC-in-C, Central Command addressed the gathering of veterans and saluted their brave sacrifices. Lieutenant General IS Ghuman assured the veterans about the commitment of serving fraternity to the welfare of the veterans. The celebrations this year was scaled down due to the COVID-19 restrictions.
A number of stalls for various Record Offices, PCDA (Pension), Zila Sainik Board, Rajya Sainik Board, etc. were established at the rally for the resolution of grievances of the veterans. Medical care was also provided by ECHS and the representatives from the Army Hospitals for veterans.
